Alkane is applying for a licence to mine uranium along with their Rare Earths mining project, around the Dubbo region. There is to be a public meeting in Dubbo on 4th November '14 which will most certainly be used to promote Alkane's position.
UFNSW is holding an Information evening at the Western Plains Cultural Centre on 23rd October to provide an alternative, more balanced perspective. With a broader information base people will be able to ask more pertinent questions at the public meeting.
We will have well informed speakers and time for questions afterwards.
We hope that you will support our fight to stop the introduction of uranium mining in NSW, most particularly in your region. We invite you to come along on 23rd, and ask that you spread the word widely by circulating the attached poster.
Uranium Free NSW is a group formed when the NSW government first opened up the prospect of mining uranium in NSW after a ban had been in place for over 40 years.
